How to sort things like articles....

Hi All,

I've got a biggie question here:

A site has a page called resourses with several resource links and/or short descriptions. Is it possible for these resourse items to be sorted by, say, name or date or score? These tiles are links which when clicked on sort the Resource items and re-display the page. This, I think will need extra fields in the DB to hold information such as the score from which it can be sorted. But I'm just guessing really as I can't see a way to do this.

After posting this I was thinking that what's needed is a module which is able to store several fields. It doesn't have to be for any particular purpose. What's important is that the mod can store several fields and be able to be sorted on each. I'll keep  thinking...

If anyone has any ideas/suggestions then I'd be very grateful to hear them.
