How can I password protect one page quickly (Solved)

Post by JamesD »

I need to password protect one page on a site and it is a quick job at cut rate for a friend so I do not want to spend time adding FrontEndUsers and CustomContent and setting up multiple users etc, besides the page does not need this, it just requires one password that all users can use as it is a stable number of users which won't be changing anytime soon.

The page in question is a parent page with no children and the site is using the latest version of cmsms.

Thanks in advance for any help you can offer.

a simple htaccess file would probably do in this situation.  But FEU/CC would be the more flexible/extendible way to go about it.  You don't have to set up multiple users.  Just create one user and don't allow them to change their password.  (Otherwise any individual could change the pw and prevent other users from accessing the page.
