TinyMCE In Context Live Editing

Post by rustpod »

Hi

I posted this in general, maybe it would be better placed here. I'm not for one second trying to be pushy :) just could do with an helpful answer.

I've had a look around here and can not find anything refering to this.

TinyMCE can provide 'in context' editing for my clients, right? But I'd like to use a simple CMS like this to build the sites myself, then have my clients use an in context editor to easily update thier pages. Is this possible? What I'm trying to avoid is letting a client loose on the Admin side of things, and simply allow them to click an image or area in their live website and edit as they see fit without having to resort to a backend Admin panel.

This would be only for minor text and image edits. Anything else would happen through the Admin panels.

I hope I've explained that correctly Smiley
Thanks guys

Hi rustpod

Actually I'm going to release the very first version of InlineEditor-module providing what you want. This has not been possible before, but feel free to test the module.
Please not, though, that it is a very early version only providing the most basic of features.
Please test it together with TinyMCE module 2.4.0beta as only this supports frontend-functionality, and this version allows you to do different toolbar setups for front/backend.

Hi Morton
Thanks for the reply and info. Sound's like a plan, would be ahppy to test it out.
I've installed both the Inline and FrontEnd modules, but can't get anything working. If you could run through a vague setup/how to, I'd apprecaite it :) but what you're doing sounds like exactly what I need.
Thanks
