Largish 60 pages plus website using CMSMS

Post by applejack »

Hi All

I have justed finished off what is a largish 60 pages plus website using CMS made simple which has what is I think an unusual use of the menu manger in the rotating projects banner images and links on the right hand side of the page. So take a look and all and any comments welcome.

P.S. I would also like to thank Calguy and Alby for their help in answering a few technical questions I had during the production of this site.

Regards
Peter

It looks great! Can you tell me what other modules are in use on this site?  And you say the menu manager is driving the menu on the right hand and bottom?

I just love this example of what CMSMS can do and how it can manage a large site like this one. Bravo!

Thanks Pixelita

There are not that many modules installed CGSimpleSmarty is one of the most useful as it is a great way of reducing the number of templates required and therefore makes maintenance easier. The other is Formbuilder for http://www.goringberry.co.uk/contact/contact-form/ which without meaning to brag I think is one of the best examples of how a form should be done try submitting without entering anything to see what I mean in terms of how the validation appears.

The other module is RRS2HTML for the industry news at the bottom.

Yes the rotating projects on the right is done using the menu manager to pull the content into the rotation script and depending upon which site structure level you are at.

You might want to sort this page title out as it is the same as the keywords, other than that nice site!  ;D

That was done intentionally. Meta keywords are pretty much redundant these days as it's the title tag which is important.

Very professional looking site. Excellent! How did you implement the e-mail newsletter function? I would like to be able to do this so a pdf newsletter appears in members' inboxes as an html page.

Thanks nygauk

Not 100% sure what you mean by a pdf newsletter as HTML as it is either a PDF attachment which you cannot do with Newsletter made simple or just as HTML which you can do.
