On IRC "Global Content Block" has been suggested.
As I understand, these are the basic uses of HTML blobs:
- In template, for global content. HTML blobs can be used similarly to content blocks if the HTML blob contains content that should be global, that is in a specific section on all pages that are using that template.
- As code snippets in template or on a particular page. That is, code that is not necessarily content. Basically to make the code for the template/page easier to read and instead have part of the code in a HTML blob.
- Content on a specific page. HTML blobs can be inserted into a specific page, for example to give a user access to change his/her own personal info in a HTML blob without having access to the rest of the page.
What's the best term to describe this?
Post your suggestions and we'll see if a good term comes up that can replace what is now called HTML blobs!
