Well, I wanna try this Simle CMS so bad, I put it on another domain and tried to install it. I actually got to Step 2 now, but got this error.
You know, with cpanel so prevalent these days, it be nice to have the install.txt written for that.
Warning: mysql_connect(): Access denied for user: 'cmsuser@localhost' (Using password: YES) in /home/guevara/public_html/lib/adodb/drivers/adodb-mysql.inc.php on line 340
Connection failed
problem on Step 2 of install
Re: problem on Step 2 of install

Connection failed

Should this help?

CPanel often puts a prefix to the databasename and username you entered (e.g. hostname_yourdatabsename)
These are the ones you have to provide during install.
See this thread: http://forum.cmsmadesimple.org/index.ph ... l#msg10147
Here's a quick guide that I think will be added to the Documentation:
Adding a database in cpanel:
Log into cPanel and click on the "MySQL Databases" link.
On the next page you see a field where you can enter the database name.
In this field type the name (it can be anything)
Click "Add Db" and when you come to the next screen click "Go Back"
Now look for the fields: Username and Password, fill them in and click Add user.
Again, on the next page, click on "Go Back"
Now you should see two drop down boxes with a couple of checkboxes. Leave those checkboxes as is. In the dropdownboxes there are the databasename and the username.
Note: you may have a prefix before the database name and username!
In case you have one, this is the way to add the user to the database:
Your database name is "prefix_thedatabasenameyougave" and our username is "prefix_theusernameyougave"
On the left drop down menu select "prefix_theusernameyougave" and on the right select "prefix_thedatabasenameyougave"
Now just click the button named "Add User to Db" and that's it.
If you don't have a prefix, it's the same procedure, only without the prefix_ part.
Use the databasename, the username and the password when installing your copy of CMSMS

Re: problem on Step 2 of install
Beautiful, it worked! Should be added to the Docs - cPanel is so prolific these days huh?
Re: problem on Step 2 of install
