The news module started behaving strangely after moving the code from one server to another.
The news article hasn't been able to show the entire content since.

Has anyone had this problem or have some advice?

At quick glace, I notice the tag missing on the new site. This is going to cause any issues when request a url that isn't "really there".
Make sure you have a {metadata} tag in your template and the base tag should show back up.
