Re: 1.4?? already?

If you never use the internal stylesheet mechanism how do you edit your stylesheets?... If you are doing it by FTPing them back and forth isn't that kind of slow?... I can't speak for Russ but no, it isn't. Once the site layout is done, you never touch the CSS again until the next restyling. I don'...

Re: Recent hacks and vulnerabilities

a) there is a page called 'mailing lists' under the 'support' menu above b) there is an rss feed on blog.cmsmadesimple.org I know. While I believe that the term "blog" can be misleading for most people (that expect a different kind of content) it is true that 90% of the posts are just ann...

Re: Recent hacks and vulnerabilities

There is a mailing list available to notify you of new versions of CMS Made simple so that you don't have to visit the forums every day, I recommend everybody join it. Since a new release is incoming, what about putting a page about security (with a link to the mailing list and the security tips on...

Re: CMS 1.3 (maybe)

I have two questions: 1) will 1.3 be directly compatible with sites built with 1.2.x or does it involve database changes? Reading the description I suppose it will be, but who knows... 2 actually more a (little) feature request rather than a question. CMSms has no core support fot the meta-descripti...

Re: NMS 2: mysterious error

However I still had some problems, and things got even worse with 2.1 that was so broken that I couldn't even subscribe to the list (which worked in 2.0 and there are forum reports with the very same problem). So I lost any confidence with a piece of software that is apparently thrown out in the wi...

Re: NMS 2: mysterious error

As for that specific error, yes, I found a solution, sort of... I activated the fastcgi mode on the server and it worked. Don't know why exactly, I suppose the reason is just because the fastcgi mode has longer timeouts. In fact NMS takes two seconds to send all the emails and 40 to do who-knows-wha...

Re: problems with FormBuilder

OK, this is all vague enough that nobody will be able to help me. But my question is not so much "what did I do wrong", but more "where should I start looking to diagnose this". I can't seem to find any logging file that tells me what goes wrong. And without knowing what goes wr...

Re: Localizzazione Newsletter Made Simple

Re: Localizzazione Newsletter Made Simple

'sto modulo mi tira scemo...  :(

Re: Localizzazione Newsletter Made Simple

Re: Localizzazione Newsletter Made Simple

Metadata (was)Re: SEO Issues..

I don't know what the problem was in this case, but I noticed there is no default field in CMSms for the meta-description tag. Searching the forums I found how to add it to templates, if I recall correctly it was suggested by Calguy. Is this rather important field going to be present by default in V...

Re: editing css & templates - is there a better way?

Since you are using firefox, take advantage of tabs. One for the template, one for the css, one for preview. And click "apply", not "submit".

Localizzazione Newsletter Made Simple

Re: Removing CMSMS Branding from Admin section? Illegal or awesome?

Robert, to be honest I think that, for your own sake, you should calm down on this subject. When you put something in the public domain you have to expect such things. I've seen people selling a rebranded Joomla like a their own product (and they didn't even bother to change the favicon, go figure!)...
