I have a hierarchy set up as this:
1. first item
1.1. item
2.1. item
2. second item
2.1. item
2.2. item
I'd like to have a similar structure appear in my shop template below left menu. At first, all the first level items should be visible and when user clicks on one of them - for example on the "first item", the items below show be made visible like this:
1. first item
1.1. item
2.1. item
2. second item
clicking on items 1.1. ... 1.n. should make products list visible on the content area and hierarchy menu tree view should stay the same - 1.1. first item should stay "open".
This far I have tried to add this: {Products action='hierarchy'} to the left area of my shop template, and added the same tag to the content area. The effect I got by this was that I got the first level hierarchy items visible on the left, but not the subitems. The sub items are appearing in the content area. Not sure how to proceed... Do I need some custom hierarchy menu coding or could the effects I described be achieved by some smarty-template mangling?
EDIT: problem itself still not solved, but I managed to make the 2.nd level appear in the content area which is satisfactory for my current project. Still I think that this multi-level left menu product categories thing is imprtant thing for the developers to tackle It seems so much better for usability.

Re: Products module and adding hierarchy tree below left menu
5ven,
I am attempting something similar and get it to display the menu properly ,
I have created a new action called hierarchymenu and a new template to drive the menu (right side flyout)
but I can't get the links to work properly to display the products in the content area of the page. -
what magic did you use ?

*bump*
Also looking for this, has anyone had any success in displaying child sections of current node in the left menu?

Re: Products module and adding hierarchy tree below left menu
I would be one of those who needs help with the hierarchy menu.
Im not that good with smarty or javascript that i would know how to make the smarty template. I would appreciate if someone could make a sample template that works with the child nodes.
Thanks for advance
