Italics Causing Page to Bump Down

A couple of my readers have indicated that some pages are bumped down below the Google ads, leaving a huge white space at the top of the page. I've found that this occurs when using italics on a block of text. Is it the italics or could it be a flexible page width problem?
This only occurs on some computers. I don't see it on my computer, but I think with smaller width monitors people are seeing it.

Not yet. I'm waiting for one of my writers to get back to me with it. I don't see it.
I will post when I get a link.

I just discovered a similar problem on
one of my sites/installations based on the "Left simple navigation + 1 column" template.
On low resolutions in IE a mouseover the menu causes the page content to jump down.

Actually, it's not the menu that's causing it. Anyway, I'm not using any of the templates provided in the cms.
Here are two links to pages my writers have noted as getting bumped down. These pages have very little italics, but they do have images, so that may be the problem. The pages also have a fixed width, which I thought would aleviate the problem. And like I said in the previous post, this only appears with smaller monitors or older browsers (from what I've been told).
Can someone take a look and tell me what you think the issue is and how I can fix it? I still swear that it's an italics issue, too, because when I've used the flexible width, it would cause the content to bump down.
Thanks!
