Best way to duplicate multiple news "panels" from non CMS Made Simple site...

Hi,
I'm working on moving my work's webpage into CMSMS. I've got everything done except the front page! On our front page, we have these little news panel things (not sure exactly what to call them), which you can see here: http://www.berkeley.k12.ca.us . These news panels are the "Welcome to Our Schools", "News & Information, "Calendar & Events", and "Spotlight on Success" items. What would be the easiest/best way to duplicate them in CMSMS?
Any and all suggestions are welcome.
