I'm working with a site, retrofitting CMSMS, on a 'dev' server. Once we're happy with it, we'll want to set-up the site up on the live server.

Obviously we don't want to reenter all the content. I guess I can, through ftp, just move the relevant files across, but Im not sure if this will work for the MySQL db. I think my hoster (1and1) 'manages' the db, so not sure if I can just stick another db on the new server.

Is there a way to export then import all of the templates, pages, content, etc, from 1 CMSMS db to another?

As long as you name the two databases the same, it should be easy to port mysql information. Just export your current database as sql and import the sql into the new database. Do you have access to phpMyAdmin or a similar tool?

OK - I think I've answered this myself. I do it through my hosters 'PhpMyAdmin' control panel (well, there seesm to be an Export funciton. Can't see an import equivalent, but I can check with them).

Anyway, if anyone has tips/tricks from experiance of this that would be appreciated!
