For what it's worth:
I have a background in Microsoft server and 365 support. I know nothing of Apache and MySQL or php. I run Linux Mint on my own computer and laptop.
So I guess I'm relatively computer literate, but have no real website skills beyond some very
very basic familiarity with HTML coding
I built my own CMSMS website using the stock templates, and later updated it to create my own templates from the Skeleton CSS Template. I know very little CSS. I later updated the site to Dig13's Portage Design, working with a lot of trial and error. (onemansweb.org)
I find CMSMS very simple to use, especially for hierarchical websites like mine, which has about 1500 pages. Support has always been generous, and really very timely given that it's voluntary.
What won't work is the kind of post to this Forum that says, 'My website won't work,' and not much else, and expects people to be able to help
I've created a few websites for other folk, and they use them very successfully, even though their computer literacy is generally not much broader than Microsoft Word.
So, although I have no idea what you might be trying to create, the general CMSMS system must be relatively clear and simple if I can use it.
