Heads up on pasting long docs from Word

Post by Andrew Prior »

Something I noticed: I habitually write long form documents in Word (2021, currently) with the only formatting being, italics, superscript for footnotes, and bold. I paste this into CMSMADESIMPLE and then add in blockquotes as required, and recreate the superscript. So no use of headings etc

If I am using endnotes in the document, then I need to re-code them, which is time consuming, but works.

I have recently pasted in a long document (6800 words) which appears to have produced the usual clean <p>text...</p> code. But I am finding that there are odd words or half sentences missing through out the web page. No rhyme or reason that I can see. But it means I am needing to do a very long close reading of the text to check for missing bits.

I have done this pasting with longer documents in the past, and had no problems. So no idea if it is a one off, or what.
