CMSMS v Website Baker for paying clients?

Hi there,
Have recently discovered CMSMS after previously using Website Baker for two sites (
www.actionchildren.org,
www.michezoyouth.com). From my initial review of it, CMSMS would seem to have similar features and be of a similar level to WB. But I thought I would ask those here who know CMSMS a little better - and who may have experience at other open source CMSs - what their thoughts were on these two applications? Am trying to work out if either/both are of sufficient quality/security to use for paying clients.
And I know that asking at the CMSMS board will reach those who may be a little biased -

- I would still appreciate any feedback you can give.
Cheers,
Dave

Hi
Well, you might want to look here:
http://cmsmatrix.org/
or just read this forum for opinions of people using cmsms.

Looked through a few CMS review places, but am interested in the question if either product is suitable for paying client quality sites.

A lot of our "regular" users (at least in the IRC channel) are designers and serial website implementors. They regularly use it for client work and love the fact that they have such freedom with designing (as opposed to other "larger" CMSs).
I've also seen some nice sites with website baker, so I imagine the same can be said for them, though I really don't have any first-hand experience.

Yes, very possible to develop nice sites in Website Baker (how about
www.actionchildren.org and
www.michezoyouth.com
). The only real issue I'm having with it at the moment is that there are a couple of bugs/issues with some modules, which is kind of annoying when trying to add functionality to a site. One of the things that has already got me interested in CMSMS is that you have a gallery built in, which works right out the box. With WB you have to add gallery modules, and I've had a lot of issues with them that seem to be attributed to my localhost environment, but since everything else works fine, and CMSMS runs fine, it seems some further annoyance.
Definitely not saying WB is a bad product, and supposedly I can install an Apache environment with Xampp or Vetrigo that will solve the issues I've been having, but it is a small issue that has caused me to rethink.
The one thing that WB does have over CMSMS is that you can set individual pages to have specific admin user access, so for example you could allow someone to only access a single page, i that was their area to manage. Overall the two seem very similar, both in how sites are created, how areas are managed, and in overall functionality and ease of use. I'm now just looking at things a little more closely, as I try to work out what would really be best for paying clients.
Thanks for the replies so far, much appreciated.

I've done this for a couple of clients in CMSMS, and it's quite simple to set up. I use it fairly often for our paying clients.

Do tell - I am desperate to give client [Editor] access to one page only, but the Permission do not name Pages, only Modules.
Would you be so kind as to tell me
how to allow access to ONE PAGE ONLY?
Cheers!

devee007,
Thanks for the link.
I've spent hours searching the forum looking for answers to this, I've read more posts than I care to remember
This helps tremendously, thanks!!

That's cool, pays to ask if it's clarified well.
Now if you know the answer to this problem that I'm having, we'll both be happy:

Would seem like something simple - a line of code somewhere - but not being a PHP expert myself, I'm at a bit of a loss... And no one seems to be able to help it would seem...

I think both CMS are close, but I like CMSMS better. I was much more rapid in customizing a template.
I think, WB development has been stuck somewhere on the way to 3.0

@deeve007 - I'm wondering if you have come to any conclusion which to use as preferred? WB, CMSms or other ?
I've been using a third CMS and have lately been looking at WB and CMCms as an alternative. I like the urls that WB puts out, and so easily, and many other things about it but even after deciding I would learn to use it I found myself still looking at other CMSs, which is when I found CMSms, and it too appeals. The main admin area/concept of my usual CMS is changing and I am not very comfortable passing it on to clients. I like a moderate CMS that users find simple to add content to.
So, I am seriously thinking of CMSms (or maybe WB) as my alternative (having tried soooo many....) and would be very interested in your opinion before I commit to a(nother) new learning curve!

Two sources of information about CMSms in the real world :

Thanks Pierre M. actually I've visited these links during the past couple of days. I've also done a couple of installs that went very well... but haven't invested too much time in site building yet, I still have to get a hold of the terminology, layout, etc of CMSms, which is quite different to the CMS I was used to. I'm hoping to jump in over the weekend.
It was interesting to me to see deeve007's post as I was considering WB but then found CMSms and started leaning towards it... so deeve007's comparison would interest me see how it tallies with my ideas though I've only 'played' with both a very short time.
Thanks again Pierre M, I hope all my questions will be answered so well, and so quickly!
