Hello,

I'm massively using the xt_file_link-Method from the Extensions-Module in our members-only-section. (In the past I was using the same method from the corresponding CG-module).

I mentioned that generating a link on the same file twice or more will generate a different link each time. Why did this happen and is there a chance to change this behaviour? I would like to generate every time the same link on the same file.

How long will such a generated link be valid? Can I give it to another site so that the files could be linked from there or will I run into trouble in the future?

Checking the code I wouldn't expect the url to change, EXCEPT if you
- upgrade the version of CMSMS
- you call the tag from within different pages AND do NOT use the 'page' parameter
