FrontndUsers - username instead of email address

Is it possible to set a username from Front End Users that's not an email address? I cant see any setting for FEU anywhere where this might be changed.
Basically I need to be able to set a bespoke username and password for each user rather than an email and password
Any ideas?

Although I'm not an expert on FEU it seems it's all mentioned in the help of the module. Ctrl-f on 'username' and you will find some information about it.

Seems I did not read the help file properly so thanks for taking the time to reply!
Looks like the settings are made to the config file which is something I've never had to do with a module before so wasn't really looking for that ... I could have sworn a while back this module had its own settings page?!
