I had the same problem that after uploading a image and then getting a blank screen on the file manager until I go in by FTP and remove that file. Of couse the file most been corupted in some way. There most be a way to by passs corupted files and still show the file manager. Before I removed the file I open it in Photoshop and only half showen up. The original file did open fine.
