I've been playing sending SMS messages through NMS. It shouldn't be to hard of a task, but I do think I need some help.

First of all, I think use bsg.world for sending sms. They have good API which is easy to work with.

My thought is that when setting up a new message, the user chooses(with a radiobutton) wether it should be an email or an sms.

In the backend, it must also be possible to add phonenumbers for the users, both via the backend and also through the frontend forms supplied.

Does anyone think this is a good idea?

I think this is generally a bad idea... except for perhaps very specialized uses:

a: NMS supports HTML emails, which can be formatted and be very long.
SMS typically does not.
Which means that if a user gets an HTML message via SMS it would be very ugly.

b: Even if using the text-only portion of a message to deliver SMS it could be very long. and therefore hard to read/ugly.
