File Upload Drop Zone?

I just completed a fresh install (Core = 2.2.6) and I'm surprised to notice that the file upload drop zone that I've grown used to seeing in the upper-right section of each page of the Admin Console is missing. (For clarity, I'll attach a screen shot from a site I built last year on 2.1.6.)

It's just a convenience feature, but I suspect that my clients will miss it. Is there a configuration switch through which I can bring it back? Or is it being killed by some kind of conflict?

Thanks in advance for your help,
Jim

Since CMSMS 2.2 there is core new module, FilePicker, which can be used for that purpose and has been integrated in other modules too. The drop zone has been removed since.

Thank you!

While I saw the File Picker in the list of modules that were installed along with the core and I even went so far as to read the Help for it, I didn't see anything that made me conclude that it was a replacement for the drop zone. Thanks for helping me understand.

That said, it's still not obvious to me how to make the File Picker play that role. Can you offer a hint, please?

Thanks in advance for your help,
Jim
