Newsletter Made Simple error: DTD Version missing or incompatible in the XML fil

Hello  :)

I would like to try out the Newsletter Made Simple module to see what it does.  I am running CMSMS 0.13 Canary and have tried installing the latest Newsletter Made Simple module xml file: "NMS-1.0 Beta6"

Unfortunately, I'm getting an error message of:  "DTD Version missing or incompatible in the XML file".  Does this module run on Canary?  If not, is there a newsletter module that does?

I saw a similar post today regarding another module but same error message.  I didn't understand the reply though.

Thanks  ???

The message means the xml file is meant for cmsmadesimple-1.x.
Beta6 will not work with 0.13.
Beta3 is the last version that does.

Which modules to use with certain versions of CMSMS

Thank you very much for that.
Must admit I'm confused with how to know which modules to use with which versions...

I'm finding the same with the catalog module now, which one is usable with 0.13 canary? I'm opening up each version to look - and there are some descriptions for the module but not which version it belongs to (not that I can see...?)  :-\

Thanks

As a general principal, if the module came out after 1.0 came out, then I wouldn't suggest trying it with 0.13, you'll probably get the DTD version mismatch error.

In 1.0.2 most people (I think) use the module manager which only shows compatible versions.

Thanks
Next website I do, I will use the latest version of CMSMS - just getting comfy and safe with 0.13 but time to be brave.  :o

For Canary, the Cataloger module, I will use version 0.4.2 as this didn't come up with any errors upon installation.
