My client is uploading images on their new pages and they are changing the size from within the Insert/Edit image properties window. They see the new size in the Content Editor window, but not in the preview tab or on the live site.

I've tested it myself with a new image and changed the size "proportionately" in the image properties, but it doesn't change it on the live site.

Is there something special that needs to be done in order to manually change the size of an image?

It occurs to me that in the edit/insert popup, when selecting the resized/other image, the dimensions are not updated automatically.

In my case erasing the values and then clicking the OK button will update the values (you can verify by insert/edit again).

On a side note: the module CGSmartImage has functionality to do resizing of images in content kind of automatically by enclosing the content with tags (read the help of the module for details).
