I read the other forum posts that you don't need CMSMailer anymore in version 2 and up (if I read it all correctly) as it also won't save smtp settings.

When I install FormBuilder it requires CMSMailer to continue it's installation.

What do I use to build forms if it won't fully install because it needs a dependency?

If you do a search on the forum you'll find a number of replies and suggestions with regard to this issue.
In short, it was a decision of the FormBuilder developers to keep the dependency to be able to easily support both branches of CMSMS. Also for the same reason the CMSMS Dev Team kept the CMSMailer module as a wrapper to the core mailer API to allow for backwards compatibility with some modules. This has also been documented. If you removed CMSMailer, you did so at your own risk. keeping it there, even if not installed, wouldn't have made any overhead on the site's speed. All you had to do then to be able to use FormBuilder would be to install CMSMailer. Now you'll probably have to use the installer application to refresh the files on your CMSMS installation, install CMSMailer and then install FormBuilder.

What happened was there were issues after I installed the CMS Mailer. Couldn't get it to send, even with all the correct info.

Since I was at the beginning stage of a new install, I simply blew it out and reinstalled. That's when I posted the question.

I did reinstall the modules and even without any email settings, it is sending fine.
