I updated a few CG modules today (CGBlog from 1.14 to 1.14.1, CGExtensions from 1.53.10 to 1.53.13 and CGSimpleSmarty from 2.1.2 to 2.1.4) on CMSMS 2.1.5. Pages now take 6+ seconds to load. debug output
Debug: (0.173705) - (usage: 3713252) - (peak: 3819324)

(mysql): SELECT * FROM rpc2cms_module_smarty_plugins ORDER BY module

Debug: (5.234415) - (usage: 4005612) - (peak: 4106204)

Nothing is known about FrontEndUsers... cant load it
if i read this correctly, some module is expecting to find FrontEndUsers which I dont have installed.

After changing "Allow Frontend Users to manage their own blog articles?:" to "No" in CGBlog options, debug shows this:
Debug: (0.509971) - (usage: 11389020) - (peak: 22210808)

process template top

Debug: (5.523418) - (usage: 11571904) - (peak: 22210808)

(mysql): SELECT eh.tag_name, eh.module_name, e.originator, e.event_name, eh.handler_order, eh.handler_id, eh.removable
FROM rpc2cms_event_handlers eh
INNER JOIN rpc2cms_events e ON e.event_id = eh.event_id
ORDER BY eh.handler_order ASC

Debug: (5.533481) - (usage: 12582984) - (peak: 22210808)

Nothing is known about FrontEndUsers... cant load it

Debug: (5.533529) - (usage: 12581744) - (peak: 22210808)

Start CGBlog summary view.
which now looks like process template top takes too long.

The website is old (starting at 1.9.x i think) and FrontEndUsers may have been installed at some point, but not in recent years. How can I determine which of the three modules actually throws the error? all three have references to the FrontEndUser module.

the problem was in a UDT in top section of template (see second debug output). the first debug led to a wild goose chase.

Whatever the UDT is or does it is attached to an event, so you should look in the events list and browse those with an UDT attached... If it's not needed just unlink it from the event(s) it's attached to.
