Newsletters on CMSMS

Hello
Can anyone tell me exactly what newsletter made simple module actually does?

I am looking at creating html newsletters carrying through the look of my client's website.  Does this module help with the creation of the actual newsletter layout and content - or is it simply an online form to opt into a mailing list?

If the module is only to manage the mailing list and not the newsletter itself, can anyone recommend a good newsletter creating software or reference to how to create such e-newsletters...

Thanks

I personally cant stand html emails so dont know about any software for creating them (well I do but they are propiertary and doesnt work too good either)

Newsletter made simple has few forms for users to order one or more newsletters and remove from lists.

and a admin form where you can write the text (in html if you must, maybe even with wysiwyg) and send it out.

I'd suggest you install the module and test it out, thats the best way to see what it does and does not :)

hope this helps

Thanks for the info :)

Is NMS stable enough for using in a  business environment?

I haven't had any problems with it, there have been some reports about link problems and you might need to adjust max_execution time to at least 60sec but thats about it.

And if you find anything I'm sure someone will at least try to fix it as always ;)

I don't like html emails much either but my client wants it.

Thanks for info though, I did end up installing and looking at it.

Sometimes it's nice to ask on the forum because there are so many modules now, and you are not always sure on which one to load.  Actually, it would be great if you could view all of the module's help files somewhere on the documentation area without having to install them first...

Actually if you are running the latest 1.0 and up the Extensions » Module Manager has a list of compatible modules and a help link that will open the 'Help' for the module, on the right side the underlined word Help ...
