Help with CGCalendar and Smarty - hiding navigation

Hello, I was wondering if somebody could help me as I know very little smarty.I have a calendar on my website with the navigation to show the previous and next months. I would like to hide these after a certain number of months have been navigated.
So say 6 months in the past the .prev navigation is removed and 6 months in the future the .next navigation is removed, is this possible? Can anybody help me achieve this?
