Hey guys, at the end of the last year I posted a topic saying that performance dropped down when using OneEleven theme:

A user reported on my topic (I hadn't seen it until yesterday) saying that performance had boosted after disabling the File Manager dropdown in "template.tpl" file. I tried it and... hey, pages are almost loading instantly now! Could it be a bug or something related?

Yep - the file manager dropdown can really slow things down.

This is especially true if you have 'Enable advanced mode' selected in the File Manager options so make sure you keep that off.

We also have issues for sites using our cloud server with multiple disk drives because it takes ages to generate the list on directories that appears in the file list.

The good news is though that there should be a new file manager coming in version 2.2 which won't load the directory list automatically on each admin page. Hopefully that'll be arriving soon ....
