Portrait Images not displaying correct on a page

We are using cms version 1.12.1 and Tinymce version 2.9.12
We have come across an unusual issue when adding a portrait image to a page.
After uploading a portrait image either via file manager or image manager the image looks correct but when we add the portrait image to a page in rotates to landscape.
We cannot find any reason are there any settings that could cause this?
Your help would be much appreciated.
Thanks

Sorry just noticed that the image is being rotated when uploading from the file manager or image manager.

Is related to the camera position that is stored in the photo metadata. Never noticed that problem with FileManager though.

Odd????
What about uploading such an image using FTP to make sure no code touches it. And then opening it in browser using direct link (url).
Perhaps your device (phone, computer) is showing the image right because of some metadata stored in it but it's not when accessed by browser.
*Just guessing

Filemanager, and nothing in the core auto-rotates images. I think something else is going on.

Hi all
Thanks for your suggestions.
After more testing and head scratching we decided to clear the cache on the system and browser and amazing the problem disappeared.
We have no idea what got into this situation.
We live and learn.
Thanks

There is a EXIF rotation flag that might be affecting things.
