News module with FCKeditor

Hi

I have just upgraded a site to CMSMS 1.02 and plan to use the News module to display summaries on the home page that link to other pages on the site.  All works beautifully BUT no matter what I've tried, I cannot get FCKeditor to work in the Edit/Add article Summary and Content textareas of the News module.

If I set my User Preferences to WYSIWYG Editor = None the textareas appear.  If I set the User Preference to FCKeditor (clear the cache etc), then the textarea fields become an input type of "hidden".

Using:
WinXP SP2
Apache
CMSMS v1.02
News 2.1

Please help.
Cheers
psy

Have you set the group permissions for FCKeditor?

Yes and FCKeditor works fine for editing page content.  It seems to be only the News module.

Hello psy,

Not sure how much help this will be but from what I remember the News module requires installation of the Comments module as well. Was this installed on your machine? If so was the group permission for comments set as well?

News doesn't require comments... it's just a nice addition...

Go here and see if there is any diff. from yours...

Hi Mark

Sorry for the delay in replying.  The logon worked and so did both Tiny MCE and FCKEditor on your site.  Thanks.  It's still not working on mine in News and only with Firefox.  It seems to work fine with IE6.0 so we'll put it down to some quirk on my local set up.  Maybe it will be fine on FF when I upload it... who knows???  Anyway, thanks for your help.

Cheers
