I am having a number of issues with TinyMCE, and would like to know if anyone else is having these issues.

1. Gallery Picker caching issue
This is an issue when using the Gallery module button: module_gallery
When a new gallery is added, this is not updated in the TinyMCE Gallery dropdown. If I then access the TinyMCE profile, the Gallery dropdown is updated, but only within the edit profile demo. However the gallery dropdown is not updated in a standard admin page WYSIWYG, until the profile is resubmitted and then the browser cache refreshed for the admin page.

2. Clearing site cache does not update TinyMCE JS & CSS files
After moving a site (e.g. dev > live) the TinyMCE js & css files are not refreshed but clearing the CMSMS cache. I have needed to reselect the JS template and the 'Design to use for CSS stylesheets' to get TinyMCE to function as required. Not 100% on sequence required, but ideally would like this to refresh just based on clearing the CMSMS cache.

3. CMSMS Internal Page linker does not always work
Occasionally the page linker does not search & suggest pages that match the type letters - just no options offered - so can't be used.
I can't 100% be sure what causes this or what eventually clears it. But numerous clearing & resetting of JS and CSS Design + browser cache clearing seems to get there eventually.

4. Image Insert - images cached
Had an issue with an image after it was cropped (externally) and re-uploaded. The image picker would only show the image with the original dimensions. Viewing the file using file manager showed the file with the correct smaller dimensions. Using a different PC also showed the correct new file. Original PC still showed old original file & dimensions in the insert image box. Same despite clearing of the browser cache.
Eventually resolved by renaming the image.


Anyone else spot similar issues or can suggest solutions?

I have managed to solve the most serious of these issues, plus one more.

The additional issue was:

5. File Manager error when User Preferences > Language is set to: 'No Default Selected'
Was getting an error for some CMSMS users when trying to use the File Manager inside TinyMCE. Solved by setting the 'User Preferences > Language'. http://dev.cmsmadesimple.org/bug/view/10964

- some dodgy code I had created caused both of these issues. I eventually tracked it down. Now both the above work 100% as expected.

4. Image Insert - images cached
- Can work around this thumbnail caching issue, by having the editor use the File Manager to recreate the thumbnails & then clear their browser cache.
