Hi,
I did a site for a friend and ran into a bit of trouble. It seems Firefox and Safari love the site but IE does not. At least not his version of IE which I think is 5.2 or 5.5 and he's on windows.
Short of saying get a better machine dude does anyone have any fixes or run into this before.
I noticed the IE info in the template but my problem is wokring on a MAC I can't see what it's doing to his site till he complains. I am looking to have a friend fire it up on a WINDOWS machine to let me know if he sees anything different.
Any sugesstions?
So here is the URL:
www.legeresongs.com
Thanks in advance
Yorgi

Well I only see a little problem in IE 6.0 on widows, there is a space between the header and menu, a little 5px red line about 5px above the menu which looks like it is the top of the menu with the bottom of the header image showing thru.
It looks like you have the Album tag duplicated on the photo pages, see the same images twice once above the page title once below it.

I noticed something else in IE7. The static-width centered main block (as it appears in firefox) isn't rendered correctly in IE. It fills the browser and so repeats your header image on resolutions bigger than 800px. I didn't look at your css, but here's how I do static-width centering.
css:
Code: Select all
body{
text-align:center;
background:white;
}
#pagewrapper{
width:800px;
background-color:#CCCCCC;
text-align:left;
margin-left:auto;
margin-right:auto;
}
and the html:
Code: Select all
</__body>
<div id="pagewrapper">
hello world
</div>
<__body>
the css contains 2 different centering methods. the margin-left:auto; thing works in firefox, but not in ie. the text-align:center thing works in ie and not in firefox, so they don't conflict.

Would it help if I posted the CSS? It's below. Also it looks like he's looking at it in IE 5.5!

My client's site looks fabulous in Firefox Mac & PC, but the client is using IE 6 on PC, and the whole site looks like a mad woman's breakfast!
I am using Andreas template - 3 columns - which I downloaded from
here.
The whole centre column has moved to the bottom of the screen, making the page several screenfulls long.
The right side I have set to show last 3 articles. Instead of just the Summary, the whole articles are appearing!
It looks dreadful ...
I have used CMSMS 1.0.2
Template : andreas01
The default coding is:
The body starts off like this:
OK - is there either some html or css which I need to include to make this site render properly in IE for PC?
I've read a bunch of the forum posts but didn't find one [yet] which seemed to be the same problem as I'm having.
Any tips will be ever so gratefully received

Have you used Firefox, with the developers toolbars edit CSS, to make sure the CSS is the same, that linked page shows up fine in IE...
Do you have a link I can look at?...

Hi Mark, I just sent you a private msg.
I also attached the Stylesheet 'Accessibility and cross-browser tools' to the Andreas template.
Do I need to specify anything in it to make it work??
Learning on the hop!
PS - just installed Firefox css toolbar - very cool!!!
Thanks ...

oops! sorry - I didn't realise ...
should I 'remove' the stylesheet link from the template? will it cause any probs?
