How to make CMSMS homepage into blocks?

Hello,
I have just installed CMSMS on my site but I want to have somethings unique that different from others. I want to have th homepage like this site http://www.webmastersun.com
I mean I will show categories on the homepage and show latest 3 topics under each category. It is possible to do that?
I need an addon or plugin the same or like Wordpress cms?
Please share your suggestions? thanks!
