A new version of UserID is now on the wikipage. The most significant changes are:
  * You can allow new users to sign up themselves
  * You can choose to use the user/groups of the administration instead of UserID's own.
    Using this function hase the following limitations:
      - Signing up (mentioned above) is disabled
      - A user is NOT automatically signed into the adminsitration system, just because they are signed into the UserID system

The UserID modules can be used by other modules as a generic way to handle frontend users. Please contact me, or look in the Protected Pages module, if you are interested in accessing it. No API-docs are written yet and not all functions are implemented completely, but it should be usable for things lige getting a username, making sure the visitor is logged in etc. storing misc. information about a user is prepared, but not implemented. I will do it soon, and faster if someone tells me they would like to use this function
