clearing cache w/o admin access

My posting http://forum.cmsmadesimple.org/viewtopi ... 28&t=74063

partly refers.

I wondered whether it might be a cache problem so I cleared a lot of stuff from the cache folder on the server (loads of entries. all same date & time). No change.

I thought the problem might be in the database BUT I don't know where to look. I do know that the database seemed to have been automatically changed when my 'user' email address was being altered regularly but I think I have stopped this now by removing a hacked file from the system.

Frankly, I am baffled. The site need upgrading anyway to the latest 1.12.x, but I don't hold out much hope after my recent experiences as to whether this will sort the problem out.

Thanks folks for your continuing patience.

Martin

ps i know I should include all the relevant site data, versions etc BUT without admin. access I really don't see how I can do this.

Thanks Rolf, I deleted loads of files but it did not work. This time I get a different combination of letters when trying to login:

http://www.xxx.org.uk/admin/index.php?_sx_=b6b5bd0f

( my previous postings refer)

For the record, the server info. shows:

Server Name ns31
cPanel Version 11.52.1 (build 3)
Theme x3
Apache Version 2.2.29
PHP Version unknown
MySQL Version 5.5.46-cll
Architecture x86_64
Operating System linux
Shared IP Address 195.238.172.50
Path to sendmail /usr/sbin/sendmail
Path to Perl /usr/bin/perl
Perl Version 5.10.1
Kernel Version 2.6.32-504.12.2.el6.x86_64
cPanel Pro 1.0 (RC1)

I will chase the host for the PHP version

The last part of the URL when logged into the admin are security session code which changes every time you log in...

..and of course I would only see this information if, as happened, login failed, which it did due to the issues already mentioned.

Again, thank you for your help. Very much appreciated.
