hello,
Anyone has an idea how to present similar (releated) product(s) to the currently browsed?
I think the best way would be to create a MultiSelect list or CheckboxGroup of all the products in that Instance. Later select two or three products that will be shown in the detailed template.
I've installed ListIt2XDefs but now what? How to create a list of all items?

Note that LI2 is not being developed/maintained anymore.

You could have a look at: http://dev.cmsmadesimple.org/projects/listit2xlink
Not sure it can link to it's own instance.

Yes, I know, but it's still very powerful tool!
I will try with listit2xlink as you suggest and let you know.
