problems with images and pages

I am using CMS Made Simple 1.0.6 "Niihau". website is hosted by opensource. I used chrome initially then had to switch to Mozilla as I got all sorts of issues with Mozilla. I now find that I cannot load images in file manager using Mozilla - I don't get error messages but after 4-5 mins I get time out, but can edit pages/add text etc. I have to add images from chrome and they upload within seconds. I can't add text from chrome because I get the following
<div align="center">
<p><font size="3" color="#FF00FF"><em><br />
</em></font></p>
<p><font color="#FF0000"> If you have sent me an email and do not get a reply, please check your email reply to address as some are wrong. </font></p>
<p> </p>
I was told to try Safari and got the same issue.
totally stumped as are opensource. Is there anything I can do to try and resolve the issue. I AM NOT very technical and I was told to use CMS as it was safe to use.
any tips would be welcome and if somebody from CMS can sort it even more welcome. thanks

1st thing: the version of CMSMS you are using is too old. Issues start to come up as soon as the host upgrades PHP, which I assumed it happened.
You need to upgrade to, at least, 1.12.1. However how smoothly the upgrade will be depends strongly on the 3rd party modules you have installed.
Please read: Particularly the system information will give us some clue to what your system environment is and what modules you have installed and if the host server meets the minimum requirements.
Eventually and if possible the final recommendation will be to upgrade to CMSMS 2.0.1.
