Hi, I've just upgraded to the latest CMSMS Version 1.12.1 from a previous working installation. Everything looks fine on the front end and even on the admin side, the issue comes when I try to edit or create a new page, I get a 404 error, no matter which page I try to edit. Modules seem to be working fine though, I've had no issues accessing them.

What I've only tried is to:
* Clear the cache
* Replace the .htaccess file from one downloaded at cmsmadesimple.org

Obviously none of this worked. Here's my system details:

if this only happens on add/edit content then I would bet it's mod_security rearing it's ugly head.

Talk to your host, get mod_security disabled.

Hi Calguy, thanks for your response.
I talked to my host and they said "I can't disable mod_security, but I can white list things that are hitting mod_security. I have white listed everything except obvious hacking attempts."

After that response I tried again and now I can view/edit some pages, other keep showing the 404 error, and I still can't create a new content.

I've cleaned the cache several times (CMSMS and Browser) but the issue is still there. Is there anything else that I should try?, because I've been using previous CMSMS installations without any complaints.

If mod_security still kicks in it usually logs that in the error log of the web server (apache?). That should give you a hint of what triggers the blocking of the request.

You could then ask the provider to whitelist such requests too.

Apparently the issue was with the {cms_stylesheet} tag. When I upgraded to CMSMS 1.12.1 there were a couple of templates still using the {stylesheet} tag. Since those templates were disabled but not deleted, we never faced that error, now when we enabled them and tried to access pages associated with them, the error showed up.

Now we changed all {stylesheet} tags to {cms_stylesheet} and now everything seems to be working, but mod_security definitely played its part, because when my host disabled it, many pages started to show up.
