Submit to an arbitrary form action suddenly stopped working...

CMSMS 1.9 "Bora Bora"
Form builder 0.6.4
PHP Version 5.2.17

It would appear that the event that "broke" the form was the (external domain) Form submission URL becoming unavailable for a period of time.

There were no other changes made to anything.

But, now the URL is available again (and it has been thoroughly tested with the same form implemented directly in html). There are no email dependencies either.

However, the form still remains broken:

ERROR MESSAGE: "Sorry! There was an error handling your form submission."

I have rebuilt the form from scratch, and tested on a test page. But still no success.

I would prefer to manually address this bug in the code, rather than attempt module updates on this production site.

Would be much appreciative if anyone can point me in the right direction, thanks.

  1. Versions are too old and not supported any longer;
  2. Scripts don't just stop working, and an external intermittent URL availability surely isn't a possible cause for a script to stop;
  3. There is not enough information on the problem you are experiencing;
  4. It remains to be proven that it is a bug, but even if it is, posting code hacks on the forum is not allowed with few well documented official exceptions;
  5. In the case it might be a bug the correct course of action is upgrading, and while it is your prerogative not to, there won't be official support for that decision;
I hope you understand this.
