[solved] Server upgrade win2003->win2008 causes error...

Hi,

I was running cmsms pretty nicely before my server provider upgraded their systems from win2003 to win2008. Now I'm only getting
"500 - Internal server error.
There is a problem with the resource you are looking for, and it cannot be displayed."

Here is my versio info.
$CMS_VERSION = "1.11.3";
$CMS_VERSION_NAME = "Darwin";
$CMS_SCHEMA_VERSION = "36";

I know it's an old system, I tried to upgrade some time ago but this was as far as I managed to get. Tried to jump to 1.11.8 but the upgrade failed for some reason beyond me. The service provider has no cPanel-service so the upgrading must be done a-file-at-a-time with filezilla, so that's the reason I'm not too eager to start uploading thousands of files just to find out it's still not working.

So now I cannot access my admin pages or my site and the only advice I got from my service provider was to "check my php paths". I have no idea how to do that and if that would solve the issue.

So any help is appreciated and thanks in advance!

This is probably not what you would want to hear, but CMSMS doesn't just stop working... so if the server provider changed anything that have made the software to stop working the problem is on their side. I'm known by my server providers to be a pain in their ass by if I'm paying and they broke it, then they'll have to fix it.

Sometimes it's just as simple as manually clearing the cache (everything in the tmp folder), and checking that your config.php and .htaccess files look good.
That said, if your host is so unhelpful, there's nothing wrong with moving to a new host. Just back up your db and files before closing your account :)

Check the PHP Error logs.

Hi, thanks for you all. Firstly Jo Morg, thanks for that, that was exactly what I wanted to hear. I've contacted the provider.

I tried emptying the cache files as Digi3 suggested, but no effect. The config-file seemed ok to me, I sent it to the provider and they only said that the db port is not 0 but 3306. I tried changing that but no effect so I changed it back.

The error logs are all gibberish to me so no use going through them.

I'm right now just waiting for the provider to solve the issue or I'm gonna move the site elsewhere. Thanks for all your help and do comment more if you have a revelation :)

cheers
