This message regarding permissions was as seen in the attached screenshot. The user had editor and designer permisson. The designer list had almost every single item check, including "modify module", what ever that means. But still he gets the message when he tries to edit the CalGuy Calendar events.

Why is he blocked but not me, the admin?

Yes, but if they have designer permissions, do they need editor permissions? Also, are you implying that designer is redundant?

CentOS 6.6 does not have PHP 5.4 available for it. Has everyone moved their servers to CentOS 7?

Make sure "Modify Calendar" is ticked in the appropriate column of Users & Groups -> Group Permissions page.

And you are using an old design of admin theme (not as good as latest one in my opinion), change with My Preferences -> My Account -> User Preferences tab -> Administration Theme "OneEleven".

Thanks, staartmees, but the second item in the first link source is not working. The second link is just too much trouble. I guess Ill have to wait until the new host is setup with the latest software. I can't understand why programmers don't keep reasonable compatibility in their software. Allowing a permissions issue to be dependent upon a cutting edge version is unfortunate, and forcing an update to the latest for everyone is unreasonable, IMHO.

Thanks, paulbaker. I already use that better theme. The permission was checked, but it does not work.

I'm not convinced your CGCalendar permissions issue is version-related.

PHP 5.4.3 was released on 8 May 2012, that's 2.5 years ago. Personally I wouldn't call it "cutting edge" or "latest".

I'm not convinced either.

As to the php issue; it is dependent upon the OS version. CentOS is one of the cornerstones of Internet servers. If it does not come natively with 5.4, the length of time the old version has been around is a non-issue. That makes 5.4 appear to be too new in the eyes of the OS designers.

But again, probably not the issue.

You need to look at the code and see what permission is getting check to produce that error, if you don't know how to do that then you need to get a programmer to check it for you. Since it is an old version, unless can verify that it hasn't already been fixed in the current version, then you will probably need to hire someone to do it.
