[solved] Website lost styles after upgrading from 1.11.10

I upgraded CMSMS from 1.11.10 to 1.11.11 using the english.tar.gz file.

I also upgraded many modules.

Now my website has lost all styles on the front end. Admin styles are fine.

The website is http://www.stjameschurch.us

The Templates are using

Code: Select all

{cms_stylesheet}
I've cleared the CMSMS cache but that did not fix anything.
I've cleared my browser cache.
I've enabled debug in config.php and see quite a lot of activity, in particular this one, among other, "Cannot load module CustomContent ... Problem loading dependent module FrontEndUsers version 1.3"

I am not clear on what I should check next and would appreciate any suggestions.

Try CMSMS Clear Cache:
Site Admin -> System Maintenance -> Cache and content -> Clear Cache.

I have cleared the cache but unfortunately it did not help.

I also cleared my browser cache.

I enabled debug in config.php but not sure where that shows up... in Admin Log page?

I do see this error in CMSMS Admin Log:
Cannot load module CustomContent ... Problem loading dependent module FrontEndUsers version 1.3
There are quite a few entries in the Admin Log. Not sure if I should post them all or not.

Check your template links to CSS in the admin area, I see no call to any .css file in the HTML of your link.

The only other thing I can see is you need PHP 5.4 these days:

OK I Just upgraded to php5.4

Not sure what you mean by the template links to CSS in the Admin area. Where do I find that? It was working fine before the upgrade, wondering why that would have changed?

I found this in the debug file:

Debug: (0.08988) - (usage: 7228760) - (peak: 7521704)
(mysql): INSERT INTO cms_adminlog (timestamp, user_id, username, item_id, item_name, action, ip_addr) VALUES (1418672267,0,'',-1,'Core','Cannot load module CustomContent ... Problem loading dependent module FrontEndUsers version 1.3','')
Debug: (0.089935) - (usage: 7224000) - (peak: 7521704)
Cannot load CustomContent... cannot load it's dependants.

and

Debug: (0.014862) - (usage: 1929336) - (peak: 1947704)
(mysql): SET
Error (1064): You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near '' at line 1

I called my webhost and they said I'm using a newer version (I think they said 5.1) than the CMSMS requirement so I don't know what to make of the SQL error I'm getting.

This is how my Template top looks:

Code: Select all

<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN"
"http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd">

<__html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml" xml:lang="en" lang="en">
<!-- Change lang="en" to the language of your site -->

<head>

<title>{sitename} - {title}</title>
<!-- The sitename is changed in Site Admin/Global settings. {title} is the name of each page -->

{metadata}
<!-- Don't remove this! Metadata is entered in Site Admin/Global settings. -->

{cms_stylesheet}
<!-- This is how all the stylesheets attached to this template are linked to -->

{cms_selflink dir="start" rellink=1}
{cms_selflink dir="prev" rellink=1}
{cms_selflink dir="next" rellink=1}

Just a thought: as you updated the module before upgrading PHP, it's almost sure that some of the updates didn't go through.
I recommend rolling back the site to a backup, and upgrading CMSMS and modules again.
In any case I would bet that there are modules still asking for upgrade on the backend.

I think you are right about upgrading modules before the upgrade to php5.4 was done.

Rather than restore from backup, I selectively removed and reinstalled modules, particularly the FEU module and things seem to have straightened out and the site is now loading,

I'll observer this for a while then decide if this is "solved" or not.

Thanks for the idea to reinstall... that seems to have gotten me back on track.
