News: Back to index.php and not to index.php?page=News ?

Hi,
I want the [back] link on the detailled news page leading to the start page "/index.php" (where the news summary is shown) and not to a news summary overview "/index.php?page=News".
How and where can I change the target link?
Example:
http://www.microturbine.de/index.php
See the news summary on the right. Clicking on [weiterlesen] (that is [more...]) leads to a detailled news page. A click on [Zurück] (that is [back]) does not lead to the start page but to a news summary overview...
Regards
Michael

Hi mark,
was offline for some time... now here's the solution for my prob.
Prologue:
- News (overview) is only shown on the start page
- start page template includes the news module call:
Code: Select all
{cms_module module="news" number="3" dateformat="%B %Y" detailpage="News" lang="en_US" moretext="weiterlesen" category="General"}
- clicking on one of the news leads to the detailled news page
Here's how it worked before:
- To get back to a defined site position I created a news_dummy page (content category "News", active, but no menu appearance. No content at all)
- Obviously the news module expected this as a news summary page, too. So clicking on detailled news [back] button led to the overview instead of the start page.
- The only way to get back to the start page was clicking on the "home" button. Worked too, but that's not the correct kind of usability...
Now here's how it works now:
- I changed the "news_dummy" content category into "Link" and linked it directly to the start page. Works fine!
Epilogue:
- Problem is that during development phase I'm using a test path. After web sites release I have to remember changing this direct link too. Kind of source for frustrating trouble! Maybe it's possible to use some kind of {URL_home} tag or CMSms internal link?
- Maybe I misunderstood the use of the news module and this is just another "hack" to make my insufficent code working? Then I would appreciate to read something about using it the right way.
Best regards from Germany
Michael

On a default install you see the news in a box on the left it's a detail view of the news so you have to click the title and that takes you to, in this case, the page called News replacing the content of that page with a larger view of the details of the news article, if it was a summary in the first box it would have a [More...] link to the detail which would have the summary above it in bold letters (default), at the bottom of the article there are 2 links one for Print, one for Return which in the default install you return to the page you came from.
If you are not using a "Page" (News) to direct the link to you can do like a lot of sites do and just leave out the detailpage="News" from your tag and it will replace the content of the page it's clicked on, example, Home page has news on the side and you click the More... link it shows the detail of article where the Home page content was.
The detail page call was designed so a diff. template/page could be used for the News 'content' - detail.
You can make a new 'page' with the content category "content" and call it News, you can call it any thing you want as long as the alias, which can be diff. than the title or menu text, is used in the tag call for detail page, and in the content box you just type any thing, like the news will be here, this won't ever show as the news detail will replace it, you can't make a page without some thing in the content box, make it active but not shown in the menu.
If you do it this way when you click on the News item to get detail your Return link will take you back to the page you came from so you won't have to recode your link.
I think the news module is a very nice fearture, I find it to be very flexible especially the ability to apply diff. summary and detail templates to the way it shows up by moving or removing the 'calls' in them.
