Upgrading Calguy Ecommerce re: Product Attributes

Hi Everyone,
I am upgrading a site currently on CMSMS 1.11.6 with older versions of Calguys ecommerce suite. The reason I have refrained from upgrading the ecommerce suite is because of the transition from attributes to options. I have almost 200 products and 2-3 attribute sets per product.
So is there an easy way to transition? According to the Help guide,
Is there no way to get around having to redo every product's options? I have read over Calguy's announcement post but I didn't find any way to transition the system. From the looks of the description, it seems that I have to now make combination of attributes as he gave the example :
For example, we have 500 business cards. The attributes are (1) Coating (with UV or matte as the choices), (2) Corners (with regular or rounded as the choices) and (3) Design (design needed or no design needed).
Instead of just having 3 drop down fields, are you now saying I have to have this?:
UV+regular corners+design needed
UV+regular corners+no design needed
UV+rounded corners+design needed
UV+rounded corners+no design needed
Matte+regular corners+design needed
Matte+regular corners+no design needed
Matte+rounded corners+design needed
Matte+rounded corners+no design needed
??
Please correct me if I am wrong. If this is the new configuration though, customers are easily confused sometimes and keeping the attributes separate was more ideal.
Please advise. Thank you in advance.

Code: Select all
Product Attributes
Older versions of the products module had a concept of product "attributes". There was the concept of multiple attributes, and each attribute could have numerous options. This functionality has been removed and replaced with product options. There will be some difficulty with the upgrade process because of this. For me this doesn't seem reasonable, especially on a printing website. You need to provide an 'option' for each combination
i.e: small+red small+green small+blue, medium+red medium+blue
etc. etc.
