cmsms uses smarty extensively for many operations and changing template engine at this point would mean quite complete rewrite :/

too bad, template lite looks very promising...

It is suposed to be compatible (except for the 'security' stuff).

The release of Template Lite 2.10 - January 4, 2007

I have added support for the use of template resources. The syntax for register_resource is the same as Smarty
:)

I have made a running version of 1.04 with template lite, it is some work, but it wokrs fine.

with a profiler i can see, that the smarty needs 3.. 4 times more to execute that all.

so it is my solution with powerweb version 1.1.

Piratos, since you've developed your own fork of CMS Made simple why are you still here?  You've copied the code from CMS made simple, and hacked it, and are benefitting from other people's hard work. In the mean time you have criticised everybody here and made alot of people angry..  Also you've made little attempt to contribute here and have benefitted off of our work. This is not constructive, helpful or wanted.

Please take your attempt at product marketing, and your bad attitude elsewhere.  You have been blasted by me and others in the past, You've closed your membership, and you keep coming back.  Why?

We want contributiions, but not contributions like yours.    We need constructive help, not destructive criticism.  And if you ask me (though I am not the owner of this site), your participation doesn't help.

There are people here who spend time, and effort to communicate, to get along, and to contribute.  They manage to do it without being critical, despite their language barriers, and ours.  What's your problem?

If you can't get over it, Do us all a favor, and leave.  Permanently.

Thank you.

I'm actually so angry, that I'm pacing right now.

The amount of nerve it takes to fork someone's code, give it a totally unoriginal name and then come back to the place you took the code from and advertise?

I'm sure the joomla and modx people are constantly trolling the mambo and etomite forums, because they need the advertisment...

I don't get it.  You might as well come steal my car, take off for 2 months, put a paint job on it, drive back to my house and crash it through my front window.

Look, I'm not into censoring people or spinning things in my favor, so I'm just putting that out there.  Let the users here decide.  I'm done.

That is the normal right way - i try it many times here, but only a little happens , the most nothing.
You've copied the code from CMS made simple, and hacked it,
That was the only way to show poeple that cmsms can more as it at this time do and that there are not only words in the forum.
So i can show the people that the ideas are working and it is  a very good way to give them best working opensource cms.

Discussions are good and often the points are things  where the cms has no good function. But if nobody work at this, nobody need such discussions.

It is nice to see many ideas from me are here in the code  of the cmsms and in the discussions as example of 1.1 - and so some hackings of me are here realized too.

So something like the new Cache way - that is what i discussed by me and i have it realized long before someone has written here a word of it, now it is one of the big thing by cmsms.
But i think it is good that one learn from another - and use it in the best way.

Template Lite can work with CMSMS, i have test it, but it is a lot of work to let it run.
TL can be a big success and advantage with cmsms.
I wait by myself, because i know something details from the developer of template_lite and i know the best time to use it without a lot of work.

And so i say bye bye, cut my membership here forever, see how cmsms becomes a titanic and work at PW.

Good luck with your project.

*sigh*

Ok, that was totally unprofessional of me yesterday.  I apologize to everyone (even piratos) as to how I acted yesterday, as this wasn't quite the way a leader of a project should act.

There are a lot of conflicts right now.  As CMSMS gets larger, it requires almost enough attention for a full-time job.  Between coding, management of tasks, managing the server, answering the forums, etc.  However, the problem is that with all of the other stuff going on right now with my life, I can only treat it as like the #8 most important thing.

It's sad, too.  CMSMS is my baby of sorts.  It's grown organically from version 0.1 with no rhyme or reason as to where to lead it or where it would go.

Anyway, my point for rambling is that I'm stressed.  And when you're stressed you lash out when you feel that something of yours is threatened.  Piratos and I have had a history of going back and forth between playing nice and not so nice.  He leaves... he shows back up.  He gives me some nice patches...  he bashes the project in the German forum.  It's been a rocky history to say the least.

But, I shouldn't be bringing this up in a public forum.  It's my job to keep the board friendly and keep confrontations from bringing down the rest of the community.  My stress is not anyone's problem but my own.

So, yeah, I screwed up.  It happens.  Consider this the last time I lash out on someone in public, unless they REALLY deserve it.

Piratos, good luck with PW.  If you do have something worthwhile to contribute down the road, I'll make sure I give it an objective look.  Taking things personally will not help the future of this or any other project, so I have to get over myself and my pride and do what's best for CMSMS.

I'm sorry - I don't wanna open with this posting such a flame war.

As every one can see on my posting counter, I love CMSms.

I've tried only to help for making CMSms better and faster (and the best CMS on market  :)).

I'm sorry once again ...
