Parent page is not available

Hi, were you ever able to find a solution to this? I am having the exact same problem with a fresh install of 1.11.9 on a very similar setup (Raspbian using nginx). I had an old version (1.10.3 I think?) of cms made simple running on it no problem a while back, but I then had a corrupt SD card and I decided to change over to Wordpress after that. After performance issues with that, I am back to cms made simple and wanted to start with a fresh updated install, but now can't get it running. Everything installs fine and I can see the home page with no issues, however it does not show up under pages to edit, and I can't add content as I get the same message "You must select a parent page (contact your administrator if you do not see this option)." There is no parent option to select and I only have one user (the administrator).

Also, if I click on the link for the sample news story I get a page that just appears to display the header text with no css, background, etc. I have done a complete reinstall 3 times thinking maybe something wasn't copying over or installing correctly, but each time I've had the same outcome. Any ideas?

I'm going to try installing the backup of the old site I had to see if I can get that running again out of curiosity, but I really would like to be up to date with a fresh install.

Doesn't this indicate that your database user has not been giving correct permissions? I would contact your host or take a look at your database settings if you are running a self managed server

But I've seen it more often without causing issues. So it is not certain this is the problem.

I thought this as well, but granting full access to the database user causes the same result. Here is the system info with full access granted, but the problem is still occurring.

I wish I knew for sure how to advise.
But, just for the sake of trying something, can you increase the PHP
max_execution_time: 30
to
max_execution_time: 90

maybe it is timing out before loading? ???

No dice. :-[

It really is a strange issue, as the content is most definitely there. I can view the home page of the default install and it looks just fine, content and all. The page just doesn't seem to exist in the admin area and I can't add any content. I don't know why, but maybe it is an issue with the Raspbian distribution (for RaspberryPi)? The OP of this thread (not sure what happened to the rest of it, seems like my reply was made into a new thread?) also mentioned running on Raspbian and I haven't seen anyone else reporting this issue. So either we're the only ones trying to run this on a Pi, or there's something goofy with our setup. I am running a small WordPress site on the same server, but I wouldn't think that would have anything to do with this issue. I may try a fresh install of everything on a new SD card and see if the issue still exists, if I ever actually get the time to do that.

Make sure if you are trying pretty URLs that you have the correct htaccess in the root and that WP isn't overwriting it...
