Suggestion for Event Registration

Hi everyone!
I'm not sure if that is the right place for my topic so please excuse if it's not …
I'm planning to build a site for a dog-sport event/tournament and I'm not sure which modules I should use. The way it should work:
1. FEU and self-registration for registration
2. FEU can add multiple starters and multiple dogs
3. link them (one dog to one person)
4. register these teams (person and dog) for the tournament
(there will be four days where it should be possible to register for each day individually or for all days at once)
5. create a list of teams that are registered (temporary starting list – not public)
6. once the starting fee is paid the admin should be able to put that team on a new list (confirmed starting list – public)
7. starters should be able to change some data even when they are on the confirmed list (f.e. dogs performance class)
FEU and self-registration are obvious (they are capable of handling 300-400 registrations, are they?)
How would you approach this project?
Any clue is highly appreciated …
