diacritic marks in gallery module

Hello everyone!
I have a problem with diacritic marks in galleries. Picture titles that have them show "?" instead of actual letters, however rest of the site shows them right.
Can anyone please let me know, where's the problem in my case?
I am using CMS 1.11.7 Genovesa and Gallery module 1.6.1.
I have uploaded a picture, for easier understanding. Instead of "?" marks, there should bbe letters "ī" and "ā". Just as hit save button they change to "?".
