[SOLVED] Limit search based on Cataloger category

Hello all,
I am in the middle of creating a new internal support system for my work and I'm using cmsms to do it. Specifically I'm using the Cataloger module to create a hierarchical list of categories and then support articles within them. Here's an example of the structure I have:
iPad Support
-- Category 1
---- Article 1
---- Article n
-- Category n
---- Article 1
---- Article n
Desktop Support
-- Category 1
---- Article 1
---- Article n
-- Category n
---- Article 1
---- Article n
The search module works but of course it searches across all category pages and item pages. Ideally I'd like to be able to limit the search based on which page the search was initiated from, e.g. if the user searched from the Desktop Support page, only articles under that category would be returned.
Is anyone able to suggest a way that this could be made to work?
I'm using:
Core 1.11.7 'Genovesa'
Search 1.7.8
Cataloger 0.11.3
