I have a similar problem, but starting form version 1.10.3. I've carefully read the documentation about upgrading, but I don't understand which upgrading steps I should do:
- should I upgrade firstly to 1.11 and then to 1.11.7?
- or should I do the upgrade to every subversion (with diff packages if available)? i.e. to 1.11, then to 1.11.1, then 1.11.2 ... and finally to 1.117?
- or may I upgrade directly form 1.10.3 to 1.11.7?

@ urbini I would take a full backup of database and site then update modules (in Extensions -> Module manager). Then upgrade to 1.11. Then update modules again. Then upgrade to 1.11.7.

As long as you make sure your modules are updated first you can go from 1.10.3 to 1.11.7...
