Blank pages in backend (Global settings and pages)

Hi everyone

I ran into a weird problem on one of my client's servers. Tried installing a clean 1.11.4 up to 1.11.6, but I get an empty page when opening the "Pages" list and a completely blank page when opening the "Global settings" with the OneEleven theme (see attachments). When switching to NCleanGrey theme I am able to open the pages list, but when clicking on the default "Home" to edit it I get the complete blank page again. Opening the Global settings now gives me

tinyMCE.init({ mode : "exact", elements : "mt_sitedownmessage", body_class : "CMSMSBody", content_css : "

When I disable MicroTiny I can access both these sites. I tried changing its permission to 777, no change though.

I've experienced a lot of checksum errors on all these 3 blank installations, even when redownloading and reuploading the files they won't disappear (tried with FileZilla and FlashFXP).

Is there anything else I could try to get rid of these 2 problems (blank pages when using a wysiwyg and those checksum errors), or am I dealing with a hopelessly screwed hosting in that case, as I haven't come across such problems in the 8 years I am using CMSms.

Have you tried uploading the tar.gz on the server side file manager and unpacking it there, the FTP account may not be set correctly, some times it isn't the same owner as server file manager, or you may be getting corrupt uploads...

Hello Dr.Css and Rolf

Thanks for your input. Unfortunately the file manager on the server has no option to unpack the tar.gz and it neither worked via a php script, so no luck with that. Next step is to contact the host, can't be I'm their first customer with such problems...

Do you use 'binary mode' for file transfer in FileZilla?

Think it can be configured per site and as a default. Should NOT be in ASCII of automatic.

Yes they where transferred in binary mode (I had it on automatic before and switched for the 1.11.6 test), forgot to mention this.

go to user "User Preferences" change Administration Theme to "NCleanGrey" then to Default
check pages
you can add a new user?
then log in with your new User
and check the content page if not
go to user "User Preferences" change Administration Theme to "NCleanGrey"
